Stefan Mäder holds a PhD in economics from the University of Zurich and started his career as an economist at the Swiss National Bank. He was subsequently appointed to Zurich Insurance. There he held various management positions, most recently as Chief Financial Officer of the Europe region.
In 2010, he moved to Swiss stock exchange operator SIX Group as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Group Executive Board. Since stepping down from SIX in 2017, Stefan Mäder has served as an independent board member. In recent years, he held several board mandates, including at Schroder & Co. Bank AG and Compenswiss, the AHV/IV/EO compensation fund.
Since 2013, Stefan Mäder has been a member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Mobiliar Cooperative Company, and four years later he took a seat on the Board of Directors of Swiss Mobiliar Holding Ltd.. Dr. Stefan Mäder has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Mobiliar since May 2023.
