Matthias Graf leaves Ringier – Edi Estermann named as successor

Matthias Graf (43), head of corporate communications (CCO) and member of the extended management board of Ringier AG, is leaving the company as a result of restructuring at group management level. At the same time, the Ringier communications department will also be reduced in size.

Graf joined Ringier on 1 September 2010 from Google, where he was head of product Communication EMEA and head of communications Switzerland. He was responsible for the overall group communications of the media company. Under his leadership, Ringier positioned itself as an innovative and international media and entertainment house and modernized its corporate image.

Marc Walder, CEO of Ringier AG, said: “Matthias Graf has rebuilt Ringier’s corporate communications in Switzerland and internationally with much creativity and has been a driving force of the business. I cordially thank him for his exceptional professionalism and his involvement in successfully positioning our company internally and externally.”

Edi Estermann (47) has been named new head of corporate communications (CCO)
of Ringier. He has served as Head of Communications Switzerland and Germany and as Deputy Group Spokesperson since July 2010. In his previous role, Estermann was in charge of project management for the integrated newsroom of Blick group and joined Ringier as a journalist in 1998.
