The grandchild scammers scare their victims over the phone with so-called “shock calls”. The losses run into the millions. Month after month. Many victims are severely traumatized. But the scam has a weakness. And the izzy team found it.

During a year-long investigation, izzy figurehead Cedric Schild pretends to be an elderly victim on the phone. This not only makes for some laughs, but also drives the perpetrators crazy – at the same time the editorial team delves deep into the structures of the criminal clans. 

Thanks to more than 1200 minutes of recorded conversations from real shock calls, the izzy film “The Grandchild Scammers” shows for the first time all the tricks of the scammers and thus makes an important contribution to prevention. In cooperation with law enforcement, the perpetrators are arrested on camera.

Cedric Schild: “The scammers’ tricks are extremely devious and the perpetrators are very well organized. We have never been pushed to our limits like this during a production. It makes me all the happier that we were able to stay one step ahead of the criminals and that the release of this movie will at least make their lives a little more difficult.
