Ringier sells Ringier Trade Media Ltd. in China

The swiss media company Ringier sells Ringier Trade Media Ltd. (RTM) to Mike Hay, who was already a co-shareholder and the company’s General Manager since 1998. Ringier is taking this step to focus more on the core competencies; however it will continue to have a strong presence in China.

Ringier handed over Ringier Trade Media Ltd. to Mike Hay on 1st July 2015. RTM is sold in a strong position and will therefore continue to operate under the Ringier name, along with its subsidiaries Ringier Shanghai Conference & events company, Shenzhen Ringier Advertising. The company decided to offer Mike Hay the opportunity to take full control of this unit as the nature of RTM’s business is considerably different from all other businesses Ringier is nowadays focusing on globally. China will remain a key country for Ringier, with clear expansion plans for Ringier Advertising Co. Ltd. and Asia Inflight Ltd.

Ringier Trade Media is publishing more than 30 specialized journals, targeting industry experts and delivering technical information and ideas for innovative production and marketing solutions. The magazines reach 500’000 readers monthly. Mike Hay will continue to lead the successful RTM and keep the current management and editorial team in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in place.
The new organizational structure will be able to fully support Ringier China’s long-term commitment in developing and expanding in China’s fast-growing media market.
