Ringier has successfully negotiated a ten-year extension to its contract to produce the inflight magazine for the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The new contract will run until the end of December 2024. This monthly title, which has a print run of 350,000 copies, is read by 27 million people.

This inflight magazine was first published in 1982. Since 1994, Asia Inflight Limited has been the official partner of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for the publication of the inflight magazine. Asia Inflight Limited has been wholly owned by Ringier since 2003.

CAAC Inflight Magazine is the on-board magazine for all major China’s airlines. These comprise Air China, China Southern, China Eastern and four smaller operators. The content of the monthly title is primarily directed towards fashion, lifestyle, travel, business, culture and innovations in Chinese aviation.

Robin Lingg, the CEO of Ringier Africa and Asia, commented on the successful extension of the contract in these words, “We are proud that, after many years of successful collaboration with Ringier, the CAAC has again placed its confidence in us, entrusting us with the ongoing production of this quality magazine title.”

The current print run of CAAC Inflight Magazine is 350,000 and the title commands an impressive audited readership of 27 million people. CAAC Inflight Magazine employs a total staff of 18 employees. It has offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
