Ringier is appointing Florian Fels to the Group Executive Board as CEO Central Europe. He will head the newly created Group division Central and Eastern Europe, in which the business operations in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Serbia are combined. Florian Fels was CEO and head of the management board of Axel Springer Polska Sp.z.o.o., which publishes four daily newspapers and 11 magazines, operates numerous Internet portals and is one of the leading publishing companies in Poland. He has held various positions at Axel Springer since 1993 and has acquired profound knowledge about the European media market during the course of his career. Since he was named CEO and head of the management board of Axel Springer in Poland in 2005, he has not only launched numerous new newspapers and magazines, but he also established Axel Springer Polska among the top 20 Internet content providers in Poland.

The new Group division Ringier Central Europe was created within the context of adapting the Group Executive Board to the new strategic orientation. With this, Ringier is strengthening its brands consistently and expanding them into digital multimedia platforms. “Florian Fels is going to develop our operations in Central Europe successfully further in line with our new Group strategy thanks to his extensive media experience in the print and online areas,” Christian Unger, CEO of Ringier AG, stated happily about the new company member.
