New editor-in-chief for Schweizer Illustrierte

Nik Niethammer to take over as editor-in-chief on December 1.

46-year old Nik Niethammer will take over as new editor-in-chief of Schweizer Illustrierte on December 1, 2008. Niethammer has already worked as a reporter for Schweizer Illustrierte and served as a member of the editorial board of Blick. In 2004, Niethammer was appointed head of the magazine division at Sat.1 in Berlin. In his most recent role he was editor-in-chief of Sat. 1, responsible for the entire news and magazine division. Currently, Nik Niethammer is part of a project team working to develop a Ringier print publication that is aimed at a young and urban audience.

In his new role, Nik Niethammer will succeed Dominic Geisseler, who left Ringier in September. Urs Heller, head of magazines at Ringier, will act as interim editor-in-chief until December 1.
