Mark Dekan becomes new CFO of joint venture between Ringier and Axel Springer

Mark Dekan (33) will take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the joint venture between Ringier AG and Axel Springer AG, which is currently being created. Having served as Commercial Director of Finances & Services at Axel Springer AG since 2008, he will assume his new role upon approval of the relevant anti-trust authorities. 

The aim of the new company headquartered in Zurich is to bundle the foreign activities of the two corporations. Axel Springer will contribute the business of its affiliates in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, Ringier its business in Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. With a turnover of approximately EUR 414 million, an EBITDA of EUR 62 million and about 4,800 employees, the joint company will be among the largest media companies operating in Eastern Europe. The new joint venture will be headed by Florian Fels (42), the current CEO Central Europe of Ringier AG. Before that, he was Managing Director of Axel Springer Poland for many years.
