Change in Ringier Group Executive Board: Robin Lingg prepares to join the Board of Directors

In line with long-standing plans, Robin Lingg will leave the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG on 31 January 2021. He will be replaced as Head Global Marketplaces by Axel Konjack on 1 February 2021, a new appointment to the Group Executive Board.

The plan communicated at the beginning of 2018, for Robin Lingg (41) to take over the leadership role in the medium term as the sixth generation of the owner family, is progressing. Robin Lingg, son of Evelyn Lingg (78), the sister of Michael Ringier (71), Chairman of the Board of Directors, will leave the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG at the end of January 2021 in order to prepare for his future role as a member of the Board of Directors.

Lingg joined the Ringier Group in 2013 after working for the international pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim for seven years. With Lingg, Ringier successfully expanded its involvement in the digital marketplaces in the areas of real estate, cars, jobs and horizontals across 19 countries. In addition, Robin Lingg was responsible for the Tech & Data business unit from the beginning of 2019 and realigned it internationally in terms of strategy and organization. Under his leadership, Ringier invested significantly in new technologies and platforms for the Group´s marketplaces and media portfolio.

In order to optimally prepare for his next role as a member of the Board of Directors of the diversified media company, Robin Lingg will relinquish operational responsibility for the digital marketplaces at the end of January 2021. He is expected to join the Board of Directors of Ringier AG in 2023. Lingg will continue to hold selected board mandates at subsidiaries of the Ringier Group, including Scout24 Switzerland and DeinDeal.

Change of leadership at the top of Global Marketplaces

Axel Konjack (51) joined Ringier in October 2018 from real estate platform Homegate as Chief Operating Officer Global Marketplaces. He has many years of experience in the strategic advancement of digital and media companies. As CEO, Konjack was operationally in charge of the reorganization and sustainable growth of leading digital companies in Germany and Switzerland. Axel Konjack holds a degree in business administration and studied in Frankfurt am Main and Lyon.

As of February 2021, the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG will be composed of: Marc Walder (CEO), Annabella Bassler (CFO), Ladina Heimgartner (Head Global Media and CEO Blick Group), Axel Konjack (Head Global Marketplaces) and Alexander Theobald (COO Schweiz and CEO Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland).

About Robin Lingg

Robin Lingg (41) has been a member of the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG since 2014. He is currently in charge of the Global Marketplaces division, which unifies the strong digital brands of Ringier AG, including Scout24 Schweiz AG, JobCloud AG, DeinDeal AG and Geschenkidee.ch, the digital marketplaces in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, and the Tech & Data Business Unit. Before his appointment to the Group Executive Board, he held the positions of CEO Ringier Africa and Asia and Head of Business Development. Before joining Ringier AG, Lingg held various positions with the international pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH since 2006, which included several years in Mexico. Lingg studied languages, economics and cultural sciences at the University of Passau in Germany. He is married, has three children and lives in Zurich.
