More than 50 company magazines of well-known European corporations applied for this award. In addition to Ringier, the shortlist for the award included household names such as Deutsche Bank, Metro Cash & Carry, Rio Tinto and Bosch.
The European Excellence Award, held for the fifth time, recognizes outstanding achievements in the area of communication each year. The Excellence Award is the most prestigious and distinguished award for communication publications across Europe.
The international jury particularly highlighted the quality content, fascinating visual language and modern, clear design of the Ringier magazine. According to a jury member, the category of employee and company magazines was once again highly contested. However, DOMO was the most convincing of all candidates and truly merits its victory, he added. The award ceremony at Amsterdam’s Beurs van Berlage was attended by over 1,000 communication professionals from across Europe.
“This award is evidence of the high journalistic quality of DOMO,” says Matthias Graf, Head of Communication at Ringier. “It goes without saying that as a media house we have especially high standards for our own company magazine. DOMO is a mirror of our expertise – it is produced 100% in-house. That’s why we are very proud to receive this honor.”
DOMO Editor-in-Chief Andi Kämmerling rates this award very highly: “This prize is just about as important as FC Basel’s win over Manchester United. Only that we have – figuratively speaking – not only left Man U behind us but Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as well.”
Ringier’s company magazine is published in six languages and distributed to employees, business partners, customers, opinion leaders and media professionals. This allows DOMO to convey Ringier’s media expertise as a high-quality public relations tool. The next DOMO appears on 15 December. The key topics of this edition include a background report on the media’s role in the American election campaign, a pointed analysis of quality in journalism and a controversial interview with design icon Wolf Schneider on the demise of the German language in today’s media.
The Ringier company magazine DOMO is published four times a year. Free subscriptions are available at Ringier Corporate Communications.
