Change on the Board of Directors of Ringier AG

La Mobilière is appointing its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Stefan Mäder (60), as a new member of the Ringier Board of Directors. He takes over the seat from his predecessor Urs Berger (72), who will in future serve as an independent member and Vice Chairman of the Ringier Board of Directors.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting, Dr. Stefan Mäder, Chairman of the Board of Directors of La Mobilière, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Ringier AG. La Mobilière holds 25 percent of the shares in Ringier AG and has two seats on the Board of Directors.

Dr. Stefan Mäder has been an independent member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Mobiliar Holding Ltd. and of the Investment and Risk Committee since 2017. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Mobiliar Cooperative Company since 2013. In recent years, Stefan Mäder has held various other board mandates, including at Schroder & Co. Bank AG and Compenswiss, the AHV/IV/EO compensation fund. Stefan Mäder holds a PhD in economics from the University of Zurich and started his career as an economist at the Swiss National Bank. He then moved to Zurich Insurance. There he held various management positions, most recently as Head of Finance for the Europe region. He then moved to the Swiss stock exchange operator SIX Group, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Group Executive Board until 2017.

Urs Berger, La Mobilière’s previous representative on the highest body of Ringier AG, was elected by the General Meeting as an independent member as well as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ringier AG. In this role, Urs Berger succeeds Uli Sigg, who has been a member of the Ringier Board of Directors since 1999 and its Vice Chairman since 2003. Uli Sigg will remain a member of the highest body of Ringier AG until fall 2023.

The Board of Directors of Ringier AG is composed of Chairman Michael Ringier, the newly elected Vice Chairman Urs Berger, and the members Roman Bargezi, Claudio Cisullo, Nancy Cruickshank, Lukas Gähwiler, Dr. Stefan Mäder, Anna Mossberg, Prof. Felix Oberholzer-Gee, Michèle Rodoni and Uli Sigg.
