As of April 1, 2025, Iván Zsolt Nagy will take over as editor-in-chief of both blikk.hu and the print edition of Blikk. He will be supported by Péter Szigeti, who joins the publication as Head of Transformation.
The new leadership’s primary goal is to enhance the brand’s political reporting and audience-centric content, while maintaining Blikk’s characteristic acute news awareness, curiosity, and speed. The content renewal will soon be followed by a visual refresh of both the digital and print platforms.
Iván Zsolt Nagy brings over three decades of journalism experience to his new role. He began his career as a foreign affairs journalist at Magyar Nemzet, later working at Magyar Hírlap, Kossuth Radio’s Krónika, Figyelő, Origo, and from 2012 at HVG.hu where he served as editor from 2016 to the summer of 2024. He played a key role in launching HVG360, Hungary’s first subscription-based news magazine, and was its editor from its 2019 debut for nearly five years.
Péter Szigeti held the position of Publishing Director for Central Media Group’s digital portfolio until November 2024. Before that, he was editor-in-chief of 24.hu and played a key role in launching the 24 Extra subscription brand.
These leadership changes follow the resignation of Balázs Kolossváry, who is leaving the publisher by mutual agreement. He began his career at Blikk as a sports journalist in 1999 and led the editorial team from 2014 and, after a brief break, again from 2020. Under his leadership, Blikk successfully transitioned from a traditional print-focused model to a digital-first approach and achieved significant online growth – while maintaining its leading position among national print newspapers for the 23rd consecutive year.
Tibor Kovács, Managing Director of Ringier Hungary, commented: “These appointments and the upcoming design refresh support our strategic goals. We are committed to audience-centric content development, brand renewal, and maintaining reader loyalty. The digital growth of recent years and our long-standing leading position in the print market provide a strong foundation for this. We are greatly thankful for Balázs Kolossváry’s professional work and dedication to journalism. Blikk’s goal remains to stay at the forefront of the Hungarian media market, adapting to changing audience needs and technological developments, while preserving its core values and journalistic credibility. We believe that the arrival of Iván and Péter will provide strong momentum for continued growth.”
Although these changes mark a new chapter in Blikk’s content development, they do not affect the business leadership of the brand, which remains under the direction of Eleonóra Kiss, Head of News Media at Ringier Hungary. The company’s vertical product division will continue to be led by Gergely Tóth-Császár.
