Since 2006, Armin Meier has served as general manager for the Zurich-based Swiss affiliate of IMG, the globally successful sports and event marketing agency. Armin Meier developed and implemented the new business model of IMG Switzerland. In his capacity he also led a team of 30 employees and played a major role in ensuring that the company regained its leadership position in the Swiss sports management market.
Meier graduated from the College of Management, Leadership and Human Resources (BPIH) in Berne, Switzerland, and may still be known to many as a former professional cyclist and subsequent marketer of the Tour de Suisse bicycle race.
A native of Lucerne, he will take over, as Director of Marketing and Sponsoring, Ringier Switzerland and Germany on 1 October 2010. In this newly created role, he will report directly to CEO Marc Walder and serve as a member of the extended general management board of Ringier Switzerland and Germany.
