Healthy living in China is on all our minds—as it so happens it’s on Martha Stewart’s mind as well. The media and lifestyle icon visited City Weekend parent company Ringier’s offices this morning as part of her visit to Beijing this week, a trip that includes both business meetings (Martha Stewart Living collaborates with Ringier’s Chinese-language magazine Betty’s Kitchen and Betty’s Living) and presenting at the inaugural Her Village International Forum at the JW Marriott, which will gather influential figures and organizations from assorted fields for community building, education and growth, according to organizers Sun Media Group and New Alliance International Communications Group.

Before heading to her next stop, City Weekend dining pros were happy to offer Martha their favorite destinations for Beijing roast duck during her stay. While perhaps not quite part of a diet emphasizing a healthy lifestyle—one of the messages Martha hopes to impart to middle-class urban Chinese through collaboration with Ringier—kaoya is an essential part of the Beijing experience, and (in moderation) we can all agree, it’s a good thing.
