Change at Ringier: CFO Samuel Hügli Is Leaving the Group Executive Board as of the Middle of the Year

Following four years work as Chief Financial Officer of the Ringier Group, Samuel Hügli (40) is withdrawing from the Ringier Executive Board at his own request as of the end of August 2011to dedicate himself to new entrepreneurial challenges. Mr. Hügli will continue to support Ringier as a consultant as well as maintain various Supervisory Board seats inRingier companies.

Samuel Hügli has worked at Ringier for approximately 10 years, among other things as head of IT and head of the Corporate Center. Mr. Hügli contributed decisively as CFO to Ringier’s successful overcoming of the financial crisis. He also was one of the leading forces behind implementation of the East European joint venture with Axel Springer in 2010, Ringier Axel Springer Media AG.

The Supervisory Board and the Executive Board respect his decision and thank him for his valuable contribution in the strategic reorientation of the Ringier Group. Ringier CEO Christian Unger stated: «As Chief Financial Officer with entrepreneurialflair, Samuel Hügli contributed decisively to the success of the Group over the past years. I am happy that we can still count on his services and wish him all the best for his future professional career.»

Samuel Hügli commented on his step: «I am going to use the next few months to examine the latest Internet business models in the USA and Asia and am looking forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to future mandates.»
