Ringier Media Switzerland (RMS) is strengthening its cross-media expertise and will henceforth consolidate all audio and video activities into a newly created powerhouse. Under the leadership of Daniel Egli, Head of Video & Audio RMS, all moving image and audio content of RMS media brands will be centrally coordinated, created, and produced starting November 1, 2025. The goal is to better leverage synergies, standardize quality, and further increase innovation in the audio and video sectors. Daniel Egli will report to Sandro Inguscio, Chief Digital Officer RMS.
This new powerhouse approach enables even closer integration of RMS media brands with their moving image and audio content: from news and reports to podcasts and social media formats.
Sandro Inguscio, Chief Digital Officer and Member of the RMS Management Board: «The usage behavior of our users is changing rapidly – and with it, the demand for our video and audio content. We want to address this even more effectively. With Daniel Egli, we can count on innovative expertise and strong leadership qualities to successfully move into the future in these areas.»
Daniel Egli has many years of experience in video and audio journalism. After his time as head of the local editorial office in Zurich at Radio 24, he joined Ringier in 2019 and played a significant role in the development of Blick TV. He currently leads the video reporters, coordinates the live broadcasts and content of all RMS titles, and as Head of Coordination, he is a member of the management team for Digital & Distribution.
Daniel Egli: «The trust and the opportunity to further develop Ringier Media Switzerland’s audio and video activities together with the teams are a wonderful opportunity. We want to combine our journalistic strength and creative energy to create compelling content across all platforms.»
In addition to his new role as Head of Video & Audio RMS, Egli will also assume the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Blick. He will support the co-leadership of the newsroom alongside Blick Editor-in-Chief Rolf Cavalli and Digital Head Sandro Inguscio, and directly integrate the new audio and video strategy into workflows and content.
Rolf Cavalli, Editor-in-Chief Blick: «I look forward to an even closer collaboration with Daniel Egli. As my deputy, he strengthens Blick’s journalistic impact and helps to further sharpen the newsroom in daily operations – with his experience, leadership strength, and journalistic instinct.»
As part of this strategic realignment, the existing RMS Content Hub, which includes thematic areas such as audio and video formats, Service/Health, Auto/Mobility, Specials, Bolero, and izzy projects, will be dissolved.
Most of the current Content Hub employees will transfer to the new Audio & Video team as well as to the editorial offices of the RMS media brands. As part of the streamlining and focusing of structures at RMS, there will be a reduction of a total of ten employees. The Ringier social plan will apply.
With the new RMS Audio & Video Team under the leadership of Daniel Egli, RMS sends a clear signal for the continued expansion of its multimedia competence – and for the consistent further development of its brand world in an increasingly cross-platform media landscape.
