Links between Moon&Stars and Ringier to continue
Ringier remains closely associated to Moon&Stars via a long-term partnership with Schweizer Illustrierte, the Blick Group, the Energy Group and Ticketcorner. Marc Walder, CEO of Ringier AG, will also continue as chairman of the Board of Directors of MSF Moon and Stars Festivals SA.
Marc Walder: ‘By selling our shares and continuing the partnership of Ringier and Moon&Stars, we have created the best conditions for a successful continuation of Switzerland's most beautiful festival, even in this very challenging situation for the event industry. Dani Büchi has had a major influence on the way in which Moon&Stars has evolved, and I look forward to Moon&Stars 2021 in the new constellation.’
Dani Büchi: ‘The magic of Moon&Stars, which fascinated me right from the start, has now been going for more than 15 years. This unique concert series is an absolute heart project and important for the region and Ticino as a whole. This makes me all the happier that I can continue to write the success story of Moon&Stars.’
Mayor of Locarno Alain Scherrer: ‘Moon&Stars is an important international festival that has enjoyed great attention for many years thanks to great artists in a unique setting in Piazza Grande. It’s our common goal that the Moon&Stars will remain as exceptional as in previous years, also with the new ownership. We wish Dani Büchi much success.’
Next year's edition of Moon&Stars will be held from 15 to 25 July on Piazza Grande in Locarno, with stars including Zucchero, Seeed, James Blunt, Hecht, Lionel Richie and many others captivating the festival’s audiences. Tickets are now on sale from moonandstars.ch and Ticketcorner.
Moon&Stars is considered by both visitors and music stars to be one of the greatest festivals in Switzerland. The picturesque backdrop of Locarno’s Piazza Grande and the unique atmosphere of Moon&Stars with its Food&Music Street have attracted national and international pop and rock greats to Ticino for many years, including Lenny Kravitz, Christina Aguilera, Eros Ramazzotti, Bligg, Pink, Bob Dylan, Depeche Mode, Patent Ochsner, Jamiroquai, Gianna Nannini, Tom Jones, Die Toten Hosen, Carlos Santana, Sting, Scorpions, Sunrise Avenue, Elton John, James Blunt, Bryan Adams and many more. Last year, Moon&Stars broke all records with more than 130,000 visitors to the festival.
