Ladina Heimgartner switches from SRG to Ringier AG

After 13 years at SRG, including six as Director of Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha (RTR) and two as Deputy Director General, Ladina Heimgartner believes the time is now right for a new challenge. ‘Ringier is an international, broadly diversified and bold media company that is setting standards for digital transformation throughout Europe. I very much look forward to working with the entire Ringier team.’

Heimgartner joined SRG at the age of 27, initially as an editor for Radio Rumantsch. After three years as head of the Reflexiun division and as Deputy Editor-in-Chief, she moved to the General Management of SRG, where she established and headed Markets and Quality. In 2014 she was appointed Director of Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha, in 2017 Deputy General Director.

Heimgartner will be a member of the Group Executive Board, which oversees the group’s activities across 19 countries under CEO Marc Walder. ‘In Ladina Heimgartner Ringier has secured one of the most interesting media managers in German-speaking Europe,’ said Walder. ‘Her record of achievements at SRG SSR, most recently as Deputy Director General, is impressive.’

Heimgartner will head the new Corporate Center. In this role, Heimgartner will lead the Group Executive Office and projects of strategic relevance to the Ringier Group. Ladina Heimgartner will also head Ringier AG’s Communications department.

René Beutner, Chief Communications Officer at Ringier AG since 2017, announced in late summer that he will be seeking a new challenge following a break. He will continue to support Ringier in the coming months as a consultant. ‘He used his implementation skills, his creativity and his understanding of modern management to launch numerous new and innovative communication channels. I would like to thank him for his service. It is regrettable that René Beutner is leaving the company,’ says CEO Marc Walder.

Ladina Heimgartner will move to Ringier AG in spring 2020. Until then, the Communications department will be led on a temporary basis by Johanna Walser, Deputy Head of Communications.
