Ringier international
In the domestic Swiss market Ringier sets high journalistic standards: with information that goes down well because is entertainingly written. Success allows innovation – both in Switzerland and abroad.
At the end of the 80’s Ringier seized the opportunity to invest in the deregulated markets of Central and Eastern Europe. Ringier now publishes and prints over 70 newspapers and magazines in Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
In 1989 Ringier launched its activities in Asia with a 50:50 joint printing venture in Hong Kong which at that time was still a British Crown Colony. Since 2001 Ringier has been the sole owner of the printing company Ringier Print (HK) Ltd., Hong Kong. Since 1997 Ringier has also been active in the most densely populated country in the world, the People’s Republic of China.
Today Ringier is a multinational media company with around 7000 employees in China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Switzerland and Vietnam. Worldwide, Ringier publishes more than 120 newspapers and magazines and produces and markets more than 20 TV programmes. The company also holds considerable stakes in television and radio stations and operates about 80 websites and mobile platforms. It has eleven printing plants.
