Together with Kilian Kämpfen, Head of the International Marketplace Unit and Chief Business Development Officer of Ringier Marketplaces, Axel Konjack will lead the International Marketplace Unit, which in essence is a cross-border and cross-divisional unit comprising around 10 internal experts. The primary task of the unit, which reports directly to the Group Executive board, is to pool expertise and actively drive key operative and strategic initiatives within the Group.
In his new role at Ringier, Axel Konjack will be responsible for the development and competitiveness of the global Ringier classified ads portfolio in Switzerland, eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. Kilian Kämpfen will continue in his role as Chief Strategist and will be in charge of the business models of the international marketplaces.
Both Axel Konjack and Kilian Kämpfen will report directly to Robin Lingg, who is a member of the Group Executive Board and is responsible for the Ringier Group’s international marketplace activities.

The 48-year-old business graduate Axel Konjack has many years of experience in the digital and media industry. He knows what it means to operatively and strategically develop successful companies in a complex, digital global context. Building on his background, he will work with the successful and experienced international Ringier management team to give new momentum to the classified ads sector.
Before joining Ringier, Axel Konjack was CEO of the Zurich-based Swiss real estate portal homegate.ch from 2015. He previously spent 18 years in various management positions at Axel Springer in Germany, including as head of the internet business area, and as project leader and investment manager in the business’s corporate development team in Berlin. His previous experience also includes working as part of the management team of the official city portal hamburg.de, a public-private partnership with the city of Hamburg, and as part of the management team at Immonet, one of Germany’s leading real estate portals. In this role, he was responsible for the strategic and operative development of the platform. Axel Konjack is a business graduate and studied in Frankfurt am Main and Lyon.
